Tai — Product Designer

Turning complex systems into intuitive experiences that create impact for users and businesses.

Hi, I’m Tai — a Product Designer and Design System specialist based in the United Kingdom. I’m especially working on products with real operational depth — the kind where good design is not just about visual polish, but about reducing friction, supporting better decisions, and making complex tasks feel manageable. My process is grounded in research, behavioural insight, prototyping, and close collaboration with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders. Across the projects I’ve worked on, I’ve learned that strong design comes from simplifying complexity without losing nuance, and from making ideas tangible enough for teams to build, test, and improve together.

I’m also hold a Master of Science in User Experience Design at Birmingham City University.

Over time, I’ve come to believe that:

Good design makes complexity feel simple, not invisible.
Clear workflows and thoughtful interaction details can have just as much impact as big ideas.
The best outcomes come from iteration, honest feedback, and strong collaboration across teams.

More details are in my resume.

My Design Space

I work at the intersection of interaction design and data visualisation. I often engage in:

Research - 1:1 interviews, focus groups, survey and A/B tests.

Analysis - Using design thinking tools like Personas, Workflows, Information Architecture to come up with product ideas.

Design - Converting the workflows into mocks that align with heuristics. Take usability test do measure the design

Data Visualisation - Finding out what questions need to be answered by the data to create appropriate interactive visualizations.

Collaboration - Working ross-functionally with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to navigate complexity, build alignment, and deliver better product outcomes.

When not in Design

I play badminton

I play badminton

Badminton has been a big part of my life for over 20 years. I’ve been lucky enough to win a few tournaments in both Vietnam and the UK, and it has taught me a lot about focus, discipline, and consistency.

I love film camera

I love film camera

Outside of design, I love film photography because it encourages patience and intention. I’m drawn to the imperfection and storytelling that come with every shot.

I love football

I love football

I’ve loved football since I was a kid, and Arsenal has always been my team. I enjoy the energy, the passion, and how one small moment can change an entire match.
